Artifact Chan Maák (Pol)

Chan Maac is a Mayan word meaning “little person”. It has been introduced into the Spanish language as “chamaco”. It is used in Mexico, as well as in other countries in Central America and the West Indies, to refer colloquially to a child or young person. These playful figures were designed by Lørdag & Søndag in Mexico City and handwoven by master artisan Don Claudio in the Sierra Madre Oriental in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico.
